The school’s emphasis on creativity and preparation for college set the stage for Daniel’s future. After graduation, he attended the College for Creative Studies (CCS), earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design with a minor in Business. This experience equipped him with the skills to thrive in the design industry.

Wasting no time, Daniel launched Daniel V Designs Inc., offering services ranging from branding and marketing to interior and event design. Over the years, he collaborated with renowned brands like Adidas, Nike, and Jack Daniels, while also running a carpentry and renovation business under the same company.

In 2023, Daniel returned to his roots, accepting a role as an art teacher at U Prep Art & Design High School. Initially meant to be a temporary position, it became a lasting passion.

“Once I started teaching, I fell in love with the class and the kids. I felt a responsibility as an alumnus and a Black creative to help students succeed.”

In the future, Daniel dreams of creating a platform or traveling workshop where youth and adults can learn and explore design skills. His vision is to inspire others to unlock their creativity and turn their ideas into opportunities.

To graduating seniors, Daniel offers this advice: “If no doors open, stop knocking, and make a key.”
