What’s New at UPA Middle: A Full Circle Leadership Moment

This school year, University Prep Academy Middle School (UPA Middle) welcomes a leadership team with deep U Prep roots: Principal Kyra White, a seasoned leader from University Prep Academy’s Ellen Thompson Elementary Campus, and Assistant Principal Michael Foster, who served last year as Assistant Principal at UPA Mark Murray and is also a proud U Prep graduate. Together they embody the spirit of U Prep Schools as we celebrate our 25th anniversary—a full-circle moment of scholars becoming leaders.

Ms. White comes to UPA Middle after leading at UPA’s Ellen Thompson Elementary Campus, where she was known for her commitment to academic excellence and a culture of care. She brings years of leadership experience and a vision for preparing middle school scholars not just for high school success, but for lifelong achievement.

From Student to Assistant Principal: Michael Foster

Michael Foster continues his leadership journey as Assistant Principal at UPA Middle, after serving in the same role last year at the Mark Murray campus. A proud U Prep graduate, Michael’s story reflects the transformative impact of the network. With degrees from Bowling Green State University and Wayne State University, he often recalls formative experiences like his sixth-grade camping trip and the bonds built through crew activities. Now, he is dedicated to providing future scholars with the same opportunities that inspired his path.
