When our scholars speak, the state listens. But on April 22, at the MAPSA Charter Day at the Capitol, our scholars did more than speak—they moved the room.

The UPSM Middle School Step Team took the stage in Lansing to highlight the power of student voice and the impact of the U Prep Network. They didn't just perform; they commanded the space with the kind of energy and excellence that has become the hallmark of our schools. They were there to represent more than just a dance—they were representing the heartbeat of Detroit’s charter schools.

The excellence didn't stop with the scholars. Our very own Ms. Brandis Bean was recognized by state legislators for her outstanding work and regional impact. Receiving a plaque on the Capitol floor, Ms. Bean stands as a testament to the dedicated leadership that guides our scholars every day.
