Starting August 26, 2024, U Prep Schools will prohibit cell phone use during school hours for grades 6-12 to enhance mental health and academic focus. Scholars will still have access to phones after dismissal, with emergency communication prioritized.

Through hands-on project-based learning, students read "Racist Roots," design reforestation plans, and plant trees in local neighborhoods. This initiative fosters environmental stewardship and community engagement, supported by the National Council of Teachers of English.
UPSM High School partnered with Visit Detroit to enhance STEM learning ahead of the Detroit Grand Prix. Students explored race car engineering, physics, and math, met industry experts, and gained behind-the-scenes access. This collaboration inspired scholars by showcasing real-world STEM applications and career pathways.
UPAD Middle student Oscar Callahan will represent the Detroit Pistons at the 2024 NBA Math Hoops Global Championship in New York, competing from June 25-28. Selected from 206,000 students, Oscar's achievement highlights his dedication and brings pride to U Prep and the Detroit community.
Adeliss Frias, a UPA Ellen Thompson scholar, launched an eight-book series, Addie's World Bilingual Children's Coloring Series. This vibrant, interactive collection blends Spanish and English to make language learning fun and creative for children. Available on Amazon, it celebrates bilingualism and cultural diversity.
